• WHY DO I DO WHAT I DO?

I think about that question all the time, "Why Do I Do, What I Do?" I believe it's because I won't do anything else. I just love meeting new people, find out about their lives and what makes them tick, traveling to far away places and experience things that most people would never dream of. And most importantly, using the gifts that I've been given and finding a way to give back. That is what motivates and inspires me. Being able to capture people and places in my camera is actually a gift to me. So thank you for choosing me to capture you, your family, your event, your special wedding day. It means more to me than you'll ever know.

Use the SEARCH BUTTON above to find what you're looking for. Thank you again so much for coming to visit my blog. I can't wait to capture that perfect moment in your life too and look forward to meeting with you soon.

NICOLE MARCIA

NICOLE MARCIA • I love photography and all the surprises along the way. Before Nicole and I shot these photos we found out we had a few mutual friends and I was excited to capture this young lady and all her charm. I love the surprises of location photography too. Being able to take a simple backyard, or dining room and create something magical is always so much fun to me. In this case, that is exactly what we did with Nicole. With only a short amount of time before the sun set at Nicole’s Santa Clarita hometown, we started snapping away, click, click, click. In a matter of a few moments and a couple of outfit changes we walked away with these beauties. And the best part of the whole shoot was Nicole’s mom who fed me before I left the house, I just love a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Thanks mom. So let’s set up your photo shoot and see what kind of surprises we’ll get during your session. Pricing for portraits can be found on the tab above that says PRICES or by clicking this LINK. West Coast, East Coast, or anywhere in between, it would be my honor to photograph you or your special occasion! Call to set up your appointment today.

Tim Marcia - April 30, 2011 - 3:11 pm

You updated this post on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday afternoon, Nicole was in the middle of the horrific tornado that struck Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she is attending school at the University of Alabama. She’s okay, but shaken. I just wanted to say “thank you.” Many miles separated us from Nicole, but the pictures that you shared brought her smile closer to our hearts….. They were amazing photos and a great example of your talent. Thanks again, you’ll never know how many times I looked at them over the past few days…. Nicole’s dad ~ Tim Marcia

SAMMI JO RODRIGUEZ

SENIOR PORTRAITS - SAMMI JO RODRIGUEZ • I am blessed to have such a wonderful gift that I get to use every day, the gift of sight. I can’t imagine a world without color, trees, sunshine, puppies and family. Getting to see those things that mean so much to me is even better when I get to capture them in the lens of my camera. When Sammi Jo Rodriguez and I planned our photo session it was MORE than just a photo shoot, it was a family reunion. The last time I had seen my niece Sammi Jo, I think bellbottom pants were still in style. Okay, maybe an exaggeration but close. Splitting my time in Houston has given me a chance to spend more time with her and the rest of the Rodriguez family. Senior portraits with Sammi Jo were not only fun but filled my heart with joy.

THE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER GETS MARRIED

THE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER GETS MARRIED • It’s a fairytale story right from the start. The photographer, me, doing what I do best and capturing images of far away places, unusual objects or incredible people alone or with their family, maybe with their fiancé or as they walk down the isle on their special day. For me, I was traveling to Houston, Texas to photograph some family portraits, something I’ve done PLENTY of times before, but THIS TIME, it was different. In late October, 2010, I met Donna through a client. I did my usual asking about the family to prepare for our photo session, what I wasn’t prepared for was how incredible and wonderful this woman would be. In a few short weeks I found myself falling in love with her even before we met face to face. Fast forward only 7 whirlwind weeks from the first time Donna and I locked eyes upon one another and “WE” are walking down the isle ourselves. Donna is more than I could’ve ever imagined and yet never believed I would have for myself. I went to Houston to take a family portrait and ended up with the whole family instead. Below is the wedding video our friend Harold Green produced for us. As a wedding photographer, you can imagine how excited I get when I capture somebody else’s holy matrimony, so you can imagine how special this video is to me. Harold and his wife Cydnee have become close friends now and we are grateful to be able to share this short video with you from our wedding day.  Now that Donna and I are married, we have built our own production company Lozano Productions, Inc., and would love to capture your special day too.

LAKEWOOD CHURCH VIDEO, BEHIND THE SCENES

LAKEWOOD CHURCH VIDEO, BEHIND THE SCENES • A few years ago I went over to my parent’s home and asked my dad what he was watching on TV. He said, “His name is Joel! He’s so funny and tells a joke at the beginning of the service. Oh he’s good, you should watch him”. It was during that time that my father began going back to church and that means the world to me. As a video producer, I too started watching Joel Osteen and noticing all the “production” elements besides enjoying the positive messages about how much God loves me. I instantly became of fan of the Lakewood Church Media Team. Fast forward 5 years, and through Facebook, I met Dan Rubottom. He is the one behind all the Lakewood Church video magic. Dan and his crew have produced some of the beautiful work I’ve seen from concert music videos to promo pieces for Joel and Victoria and their worldwide broadcasts. Dan recently asked me to join him “on the set” of the making of a brand new intro piece for Lakewood Church to debut Easter 2011. I am honored and thrilled to have been invited to photograph a “behind the scenes” of what I am sure will be an incredible video piece. Dan used the Phantom Flex High-Speed Digital Camera. It is capable of recording 2,570 fps at 1920×1080. In comparison, regular video cameras shoot at 24 frames per second! It allows for the most incredible super slow motion video ever seen. I’m so excited to see the final footage. Here are a few of the “behind-the-scenes” photos from one of the production days. Thank you Dan for believing in me.

The Bluebonnet Trail

THE BLUEBONNET TRAIL • If you love flowers and landscapes as much as I do and have never seen a field of Texas Bluebonnets, it’s something you MUST SEE. Although I’ve lived in Texas before, I have never had the pleasure of seeing the Texas State flower like a blue blanket across a field of grass. My wife  and I were talking one morning at breakfast and she suggested a trip from Houston to Austin to see these amazing blue beauties. Bluebonnets have been loved since man first trod the vast prairies of Texas. Indians wove fascinating folk tales around them. The bluebonnet is to Texas what the shamrock is to Ireland, the cherry blossom to Japan, the lily to France, the rose to England and the tulip to Holland. The most difficult part of our Bluebonnet Photo Safari was FINDING THEM! The Bluebonnet blooms in the early spring and can be readily found in fields and along the roadsides throughout central and south Texas, the problem is, their growth depends on many factors. This year we had a fairly dry spring so they were not as plentiful as years past. Now that I’ve seen them, NEXT YEAR 2012, I’m thinking about setting up BLUEBONNET PHOTO SESSIONS! Let me know if you’re interested so we can start planning and book your spot.

Finally, my wife told me take this photo above of the Longhorns turning their backs to me because she thought it was funny. She said we should post the caption, “WELCOME TO TEXAS, NOW GO HOME!” I just love her sense of humor.

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS – Mary Moriarty and Derek Bickford

MARY MORIARTY AND DEREK BICKFORD • Here is a quick sample of what YOUR engagement photos could look like! What an incredible couple Mary and Derek are. And talk about two people who are totally in love! I met Mary & Derek while at the Bogna’s shooting HEATHER and DAVID’S WEDDING! While taking pictures during the reception, I noticed them right away. I actually went up to Derek and asked him if they would be interested in some photos, we exchanged numbers and that was it until they saw the photos of Heather & David’s wedding. Mary called so excited and asked how soon before we could shoot! We set the date and we ended up only going not more than a block from my home in Valencia, California. Tons of great things like the Paseo Bridge and cool walkways and an entrance to one of the communities with the sun in the perfect spot made for some wonderful pictures. Mary and Derek were a great couple to work with and so easy too. All they had to do was kiss and hug during our shoot. Great job if you can get it. No matter what the occasion, it’s always great to be able to capture a special moment, especially when it’s two people in love. Let’s book your Engagement photo session today. THE CRAIG FAMILY

THE CRAIG FAMILY • Pam Craig of CBRE was a client of mine long before we took these family portraits. I have been the marketing/ graphic art person for a shopping center that Pam manages in Santa Clarita, California for the past several years. One day, while planning another promotion for the River Oaks Shopping Center, Pam asked if I would shoot her family portraits. How could I say anything but “YES!!!”? Pam’s blended family was so much fun to caputre and their pre-planned outfit selection of simple blue jeans and white tops made the photos fun and casual. We spent just about two hours on the grounds of Grace Baptist Church in Valencia and got these wonderful shots. I’d love to capture YOUR family too. Call or email us to set up your appointment. See more FAMILY PORTRAITS HERE »

FAMILY PORTRAITS-THE BONAVENTURA’S

THE BONAVENTURA FAMILY • As a photographer, you’d imagine I take TONS of photographs. Most times the portraits are planned, a date and place is set, outfits are carefully chosen and the magic begins. However, there are those special moments when I’m at a BBQ in someone’s backyard, at a party, or maybe just walking through a park. These two photos are an example of that “unplanned moment”. Tony Bonaventura and two of his boys were in their backyard when I snapped these pics. Nothing special planned, just a “look this way” kind of moment that I’ll treasure forever. I miss you guys and the rest of the Bonaventura family. I’d be honored to capture your family’s special moments, just send us an email or phone my office to book your session. See more FAMILY PORTRAITS HERE »
