LAKEWOOD CHURCH VIDEO, BEHIND THE SCENES • A few years ago I went over to my parent’s home and asked my dad what he was watching on TV. He said, “His name is Joel! He’s so funny and tells a joke at the beginning of the service. Oh he’s good, you should watch him”. It was during that time that my father began going back to church and that means the world to me. As a video producer, I too started watching Joel Osteen and noticing all the “production” elements besides enjoying the positive messages about how much God loves me. I instantly became of fan of the Lakewood Church Media Team. Fast forward 5 years, and through Facebook, I met Dan Rubottom. He is the one behind all the Lakewood Church video magic. Dan and his crew have produced some of the beautiful work I’ve seen from concert music videos to promo pieces for Joel and Victoria and their worldwide broadcasts. Dan recently asked me to join him “on the set” of the making of a brand new intro piece for Lakewood Church to debut Easter 2011. I am honored and thrilled to have been invited to photograph a “behind the scenes” of what I am sure will be an incredible video piece. Dan used the Phantom Flex High-Speed Digital Camera. It is capable of recording 2,570 fps at 1920×1080. In comparison, regular video cameras shoot at 24 frames per second! It allows for the most incredible super slow motion video ever seen. I’m so excited to see the final footage. Here are a few of the “behind-the-scenes” photos from one of the production days. Thank you Dan for believing in me.
